About Us
Manobsur Unnayan Sangstha (MAUS) is a local, voluntary, and non-political non-governmental development organization (NGO) that has been operating in Bhola District since 2019. The organization works for the sustainable development of marginalized, underprivileged, and disaster-affected women, children, and poor communities. Due to its geographical location, Bhola District is regularly affected by natural disasters such as floods, cyclones, river erosion, and droughts. As a result, thousands of families lose their crops, arable land, and homesteads each year, forcing them to migrate in search of livelihood and shelter. In this challenging environment, women and children are the most vulnerable, facing various social and economic forms of exploitation due to poverty and gender discrimination. In response to these challenges, MAUS prioritizes women’s empowerment, disaster risk reduction, and livelihood development while working closely with local communities. The organization firmly believes that equal participation of women and men, along with strengthening the capacity of local communities, is the cornerstone of sustainable development. Looking ahead, MAUS is committed to expanding its programs on a larger scale and extending its impact nationwide, ensuring that the most vulnerable and marginalized populations across the country benefit, and that sustainable development is achieved at all levels.
